Putting together a film festival is kind of liking making a beautiful meal. Every ingredient has to stand on it's own while working together with the other elements to create something new, delicious and memorable. Jennie and I travelled to the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival in Colorado over Memorial Day weekend in search of the final few films that would complete our festival program. We found exactly what we were looking for in Equal Footing, Operation Moffatt and Wasfia and were thrilled to meet the directors and subjects of each of the films in person. After months of behind the scenes planning, we're thrilled to finally pull the curtain back and announce the lineup of films for our inaugural Women Sports Film Festival.  Our carefully curated program includes nine feature length documentaries and a collection of eight short films featuring athletes from four continents participating in eleven different sports. We'll kick the festivities off  with our opening night film, T-Rex: Her Fight for Gold on Thursday, July 28 at 6:30 pm. Co-presented by Independent Lens, KQED and the San Francisco Film Society, this is a free community screening and open to all. On Friday night, July 29, we take a look back at the trailblazing journey of legendary tennis player, Althea Gibson in the award-winning film, Althea.  Saturday, July 30,  features a full day of films and post-screening discussions with film subjects and filmmakers, live and via Skype.  We'll wrap up the festival with our closing night film, Keepers of...
